Youth & Children

Worship Opportunities

Bible Study

Meets every Sunday and Wednesday. Classes are grouped by age: Kindergarten-5th grade, 6th-8th grade, and 9th-12th grade. Our mid-high (6th-8th) ministry also provides faith formation commonly called Confirmation. This prepares young folks to affirm their Baptism in worship.

Fellowship

At least one time each month, our mid-high and senior high youth join together with other Lutheran youth in Albuquerque for “Sunday Funday,” where they do activities as bowling, hiking, dinners out, and more.

Service

Youth are invited to participate in worship on Sundays by serving as an acolyte, usher, assisting minister, and as part of our musical teams. Youth also serve as volunteers and counselors in our summer Vacation Bible School programs as well as other service opportunities throughout the year.

Off-Site Experiences

Our mid-high and senior high youth travel across New Mexico and in other areas of the country through several opportunities that offer highly memorable & meaningful faith experiences.  Examples of these include:

  • Camp – Each year, several of our mid-high and senior high youth travel to Rainbow Trail Lutheran Camp (Colorado) or Rainbow Trail South (Cloudcroft, NM) for spiritual growth, leadership development, and traditional camp fun such as hiking, arts and crafts, and rafting.
  • ELCA National Youth Gathering – Held every three years, this gathering attracts thousands of Lutheran youth from across the country.

Camp at Cross of Hope

Resumes January 8, 2024

Modeled after the formative experience so many have had at Rainbow Trail Lutheran Camp, this Wednesday evening ministry is for children, youth and families. We meet for dinner, all camp activity, age-group bible study and campfire worship. Come and take a break in the middle of your week with camp!

Click the button below to sign up for meals.

We are also asking for your help in providing simple meals for each rotation of the camp.

  • Each rotation has 5 weeks.
  • Each week has a different meal planned.
  • Some involve cooking and some are take out.
  • You will find slots available for food donations and/or monetary donations for take-out.

Thank you for your consideration.
We appreciate anything you can provide.

Children's Chapel

Sunday’s 10:00am

For PreK – 5th grade, this dedicated time is to connect our children in a time of prayer, song, bibles stories and play. Intentionally their own time between worship services to encourage both connection with one another and the space to worship as a family.

Designed for youth, grades 6-12, this city-wide youth gathering is every 2nd Sunday and meets at different locations for lunch, worship and service together.
