Growing Hope Together

The ministry of Cross of Hope mapped out its God-given direction for the twenty-first century in Growing Hope, Together. It followed on the heals of the three year campaign, Building Hope, Together, which provided Cross of Hope with much needed classroom and fellowship space.

A three year (156 week) campaign, Growing Hope, Together, has three objectives: 1) to provide am ordained pastor who focuses on the youth at Cross of Hope; 2) retire the debt taken on to fund Growing Hope. Together; provide subsidy to Cross of Elementary School until it becomes financially self-supporting.

John McWilliam, a long-time member of Cross of Hope headed the campaign team. Members and friends of Cross of Hope gathered for a banquet on April 30, 2005 featuring a traveling group, Jeremiah People. Eight children and adults were baptized on Fellowship Sunday when the congregation of Cross of Hope gathered in a tent in our parking lot on May. Commitments of $323,000 were made on Commitment Sunday, May 15.  We celebrated our commitments and made our first gifts on Celebration Sunday, May 22.

Bruce Webb of Stewardship Plus, Fort Collins, Colorado headed the campaign with the theme, “not equal giving, but equal sacrifice. He also said,

I know that many of you are truly depending on the Lord to provide your gift. Continue to pray, knowing that God provides (Matthew 21:22)

We ask the same sacrifice of all new members. You are asked to make a commitment to Building Hope, Together, joining with your brothers and sisters to provide the funds to keep Cross of Hope on the path to which God calls us.

There are materials provided for you to make a commitment; you will receive giving envelopes to help you.
