Worship is our response to a gracious and living God who has redeemed and renewed us in Christ Jesus It is a time to gather in God’s presence, hear God’s Word, sing God’s praise, and share God’s presence through prayer and Holy Communion.
God created order, and structured the world. In the church, this structure is called liturgy; or more simply, the order in which the elements occur during our worship services. God values the substance of our worship, yet recognizes that form and style may vary from culture to culture, and generation to generation. Here at Cross of Hope, we offer three worship services each Sunday, distinctly different in style, but consistent with the beliefs of the Lutheran church.
Saturday 6:15 p.m. Evening Worship

This service provides a causual atmosphere, communion every week, and life relevant Biblical messages.
Sunday 10:45 a.m. Contemporary Worship

This service offers a more relaxed atmosphere. During the summer, we worship outside on the lawn, where shorts and lawn chairs are the norm. The music is led and supported by our praise team, and the musical style consists primarily of contemporary praise music. Quite often, drama, and Faith Journeys/personal testimonies are featured. Currently, our children’s choirs present musical offerings once each month for offertory (September through May). This is a warm and friendly, outgoing and engaging service ideal for those who are uncomfortable in more formal church settings. Communion is shared during the first and third Sundays each month.
Sunday 9:30 a.m. Traditional Service

This service is based upon the Lutheran Book of Worship. The liturgy of this service varies little from week to week, creating a very comforting and reassuring atmosphere of worship. From September through May, the Chancel Choir presents offerings and supports the congregational singing. The music (primarily hymns found in the LBW) during this service is accompanied by the organ. Communion is shared every Sunday.
Sunday 8:00 a.m. Blended Worship

This service utilizes elements of contemporary and traditional worship. Dramas, hymns, Faith Journeys, praise songs, organ, piano, and praise teams can be found during this service. The Voices of Hope adult choir presents musical offerings and supports congregational singing. The Blended Worship styles encourages us to see the wideness of God’s love for us, showing that people who enjoy often contrasting styles can come together, support and encourage each other, and worship our one Lord and savior as brothers and sisters in Christ. Communion is shared the first and third Sundays each month.
